HILLSIDE, NJ — On Jan. 16, 2021, twelve youths from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of North Jersey packed over 120 boxes to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside, New Jersey. Each box carried approximately 25 pounds of food.
Established in 1939, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya USA (MKA USA) is one of the earliest Muslim Youth organizations in the United States. His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s worldwide head, encourages Ahmadi Muslim youth to give back. Therefore, they excel in serving their local communities across the United States, feeding the needy, helping the elderly and the sick by delivering groceries and medicines, providing volunteers during disaster relief, and holding blood drives. After an unprecedented and turbulent year, MKA USA increased these campaigns to better serve the disadvantaged in a global pandemic.
In 2020, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of North Jersey’s youth supported their local food bank on two occasions, in addition to their other local charitable work. These young Muslims packed over 800 boxes during these visits, totaling over 24,000 pounds of food.
